CRYSTAL BAILEY

A Northwest Detroit native who attended Henry Ford High School for 9th and 10th grade before moving to Oak Park and graduated Oak Park High School in 2001. Crystal Bailey is a civil servant, and former Vice President of the Oak Park School Board of Education. She has worked in the Juvenile Probation Department in Oakland County. She is the founder of WALK Fashion Show LLC, a successful international corporation of 17 years with a voice to impact independent business owners and inspiring entrepreneurs. She’s been consistent and actively involved in Northwest Detroit, Oak Park and Royal Oak Township. Over the past 17 years the company she founded, along with her nonprofit 501c3, WALK Fashion Academy INC. sponsors twice yearly clothing and food giveaways for the Neighborhood Service Organization. During a global pandemic, Ms. Bailey focused on helping the Oak Park School District distribute internet hotspots to ensure students within the district were equipped with the tools needed to successfully participate in virtual classes. She is running for the new State House District 5. We need to discuss why our jails are housing those who need mental health services instead of detention and incarceration. We need to discuss why our schools are the first to lose funding when budget cuts happen. We need to discuss our needs within the new House District 5. Ms. Bailey looks forward to having these conversations with you in the upcoming weeks. She’s most passionate about Gun Safety/Accountability, Mental Health Crisis, Water Affordability, Auto Insurance and Property Taxes.
